Privacy Policy
jinga-youtube is the tool JINGA SIA uses to publish videos to its own YouTube channel. It is not offered to the public, so the only Google account it ever acts for is ours.
1. Who we are
JINGA SIA is a software studio registered in Riga, Latvia, and the data controller for the processing described here. Contact: support@jinga.dev.
2. YouTube API Services
jinga-youtube uses YouTube API Services. By using it you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
3. What it accesses, and why
When the channel owner signs in, Google grants the tool access under the youtube.force-ssl scope. The tool uses it to:
- upload our own videos, with their title, description and chapters;
- set each video's thumbnail and upload its captions;
- read the channel's ID and name once, at sign-in, to confirm the sign-in is for Office on Autopilot.
It asks for youtube.force-ssl rather than the narrower youtube.upload because YouTube's captions upload accepts only youtube.force-ssl; the same scope covers the video and thumbnail uploads, so no second scope is requested.
It does not read comments, subscribers, viewers, analytics, or any other user's data, and it does not use YouTube data for advertising or profiling.
4. What it stores, and where
One OAuth refresh token, kept in a file on our own computer that only its owner can read. It never leaves that machine, and the tool never prints it. The videos, thumbnails and captions it uploads are our own work. In our own working notes we keep our channel's ID and the IDs and status of the videos we upload, to track what has been published. We keep no other YouTube data.
5. Who it is shared with
No one. The tool talks only to Google's own API endpoints. We do not sell, share or transfer data obtained through YouTube API Services.
6. How long, and how to revoke access
The token is kept until it is replaced at the next sign-in, expires, or access is revoked. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google security settings page; we then delete the token file.
7. If you watch or write to us
Watching our videos on YouTube is covered by Google's policies, not ours: we see only YouTube's own aggregate figures. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. If you email support@jinga.dev, we keep the message as ordinary business correspondence, hosted by Zoho in its EU data centres, which processes it on our behalf under a data-processing agreement; where Zoho's corporate group is outside the EU, transfers are covered by EU standard contractual clauses.
8. Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of data we hold about you, or object to its use, at support@jinga.dev; we answer within a month. You can complain to a supervisory authority: in Latvia, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv), or the authority in your own country. If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it.
